Family Office Connect Cyprus (FOC) and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Cyprus have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), formalising a strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening the Family Office ecosystem in Cyprus and enhancing the country’s positioning as an international hub for private wealth and Family Offices.
Established in June 2025, Family Office Connect Cyprus is a non‑profit organisation dedicated to supporting the development of the Family Office sector through advocacy, networking, and education. Its mission is to represent the interests of both local and international Family Offices, while fostering a collaborative and forward‑looking environment for long‑term capital in Cyprus.
STEP Cyprus, part of the global Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, is a leading professional body representing experts in trusts, estates, and private wealth planning. Its membership includes lawyers, accountants, trustees, and other professionals committed to upholding the highest standards in wealth structuring and intergenerational planning. The Cyprus branch is recognised as one of the most active globally relative to the size of the jurisdiction and plays an important role in shaping regional and international dialogue in the private wealth sector.
Through this collaboration, FOC and STEP Cyprus will work jointly to:
- Support the growth and development of the Family Office sector in Cyprus
- Facilitate the exchange of knowledge, insights, and best practices
- Collaborate on research, surveys, and industry reports
- Co‑organise conferences, roundtables, and targeted events focused on Family Offices
- Contribute to addressing key issues in areas such as governance, succession planning, taxation, trusts, and regulatory frameworks
- Promote initiatives aimed at attracting international Family Offices, contributing to economic development and job creation in Cyprus
The MoU also establishes a framework for ongoing engagement between the two organisations, including regular communication, collaboration on strategic initiatives, and coordinated efforts to identify and address structural challenges impacting the sector.
Commenting on the partnership, representatives from both organisations highlighted the importance of cross‑institutional collaboration in building a sustainable and competitive ecosystem for Family Offices, emphasising that such initiatives are essential for aligning Cyprus with international best practices.
